We Die Alone
A smile is a gesture too insincere. Lock the eyes, only to turn and contemplate what's been whispered. No. She is still trapped. "I'll die alone." she wrote to me. Compromise is the weapon of the helpless. I take her eyes, and leave her bloodlessly wandering. Years of Isolation begin as she exists in fading. I watch over her shadow losing sanity. She stains me to still, I am captivated. "I'll die alone". She writes again. Skin enflamed red, withering, she smiles.
